Our Tournament Bracket Predictor

We will take you through our predictions for the group stages and knockouts. You can make your own using the Euros website bracket predictor.

GROUP STAGES

This is our group stage predictions

Group A

We think that Italy and Turkey will easily advance through this group as they have both been playing very well in the friendlies. Wales may put up a fight against Turkey but we think they will not advance from this group.

Group B

Being one of the top teams on the men's FIFA rankings, we think that Belgium will easily qualify for the knockout stages and win every match in this group. We think that Denmark, with talented players such as Christian Eriksen and Andreas Christensen, will finish second, however, we think that Russia could possibly be close behind.

Group C

This group should be fairly easy for the Netherlands to win in our view. Austria will come 2nd with players such as Marcel Sabitzer and David Alaba being the key members of the team. We think the battle between Austria and Ukraine could be close, however.

Group D

We think England should find their way to the top of the group with relative ease, but it will be interesting to see a rematch of the 2018 World Cup semi-final between England and Croatia. Behind England, Croatia is the strongest team there and should be able to get 2nd place.

Group E

Here we think Spain will top the group without facing too much of a challenge, however, the battle for second between Poland and Sweden will be interesting. We think Poland could just edge it due to a missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Sweden and an in-form Lewandowski who is off the back of a record-breaking season in the Bundesliga with Bayern.

Group F

This is a tough one, honestly, anyone from the top three of this group can be interchanged. However, we think that France with their World Cup-winning side will finish above the rest. Then the battle for second between Portugal and Germany should be very fun to watch. Portugal has one of their best sides in years, and you can never really rule out Germany.

Highest placed 3rd teams

Now out of all 6 third-place teams by the end of the Group Stages, 4 of them will make it to the knockout stages. This will be decided by who has the most points, we think that Germany shouldn't find it too difficult to progress as a third-place team however of course they have probably the hardest group. The other three teams have relatively easy groups so we think that when it comes down to points, these 3 will be able to get into this 4 as well.

KNOCKOUT STAGES

Round of 16: There are some extremely tough decisions to make in this round, with the most difficult definitely being that England vs Portugal match. We think that in that match, both teams will play a great game however Portugal will come out on top as we think that Portuguese players like Fernandes and Dias have already dominated majority of the English players in the Premier League this season and we think they can do it again in this match. Another match that could be close would be Netherlands vs Germany. However, the Netherlands attack has been struggling recently with only Memphis Depay being able to create chances and score goals for the team. This contrasted to Germany's fine attacking play with players such as Thomas Muller and Ilkay Gundogan, leads us to believe that Germany will win. Other than this, we would say all the other matches feature a dominant team that should be able to win.

Quarter-finals:

Now this is where it starts to get interesting. For Belgium vs Italy we think that Italy will produce a major shock and upset Belgium. This is mainly because of a injury-consumed Belgian squad with no Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard being able to play at the tournament. We think that Italy will dominate Belgium in their attacking play with Insigne and Immobile being the standouts. Croatia are not at the same level as when they met France in the 2018 World Cup Final and some could argue that France's side may even be better. Therefore, we think that France vs Croatia will not really be a close contest and France will win comfortably. Spain vs Portugal, always close and competitive. Even in the friendly between the two last week, the game ended 0-0. However, Spain have no Ramos in their squad, arguably one of the best defenders ever in terms of trophies, which is a big blow for them. We think that this is where their Euro Journey will come to an end. And finally Germany vs Turkey. This will be a very close match. But we have to go with our dark horse pick which we mentioned in our previous post and we predict Turkey to beat Germany. Turkey beat them 4-2 in the friendlies and we think they should be able to do this again.

Semis:

Italy vs France. We think that France should and will win this match however we think that Italy have this great chemistry when they play, which has sometimes been an issue for France in the past so we think that this match could be close but we would pick France, the expected winners to reach the final. France's squad this year is just filled with multiple amazing talents in every single position. Portugal vs Turkey. We think that this match will be the end of the Euro journey for Turkey as we think that Portugal's team is too strong for them to handle. Portugal's attack this year is quite outstanding with Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Andre Silva and Ronaldo and we don't think that the Turkish defense is suited to manage this attacking threat. We think that Turkey will put up a good fight, but fall just short.

The final:

Portugal vs France. It's an exact repeat of the 2016 Euro final, where Portugal defied all the odds and won the tournament, even with an injured Ronaldo who was stretchered off at half time. This time around however, we think it will be a different story. This match is quite hard to predict. Although France is the strongest team in the world with numerous talents, they do not have that team spirit Portugal has while playing. Portugal have shown they can defy the odds in the past, however on this occasion, France is just too strong. Many of the best players in the world for each respective position play for France. It could go down to the wire in this match but we think that the EURO 2020 Winner will be France.
